 Bobette Stanbridge is a mother and grandmother who grew up in Los Angeles in the 50's, joined her peers in the 60's in the hippy revolution and in between all of this put herself through college. She attended the Art Center College of Design where she honed her art skills in the early 70's. In 1967 she was initiated into transcendental meditation by Jerry Jarvais at UCLA and in 1976 became a member of the Self Realization Fellowship which was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda. In 1986 she became a Kriyaban Yogi through these teachings. In 1974 She was hired to design and create a series of characters and illustrations which were silk screened onto many products and sold nationally at all the large department stores. Later her daughter Tiffany found these drawings and asked her to do something with them. She decided to write stories using these characters to teach the things she learned from her years of meditation.
Bobette writes about an alternative world where there is love, harmony, joy, music, and beauty. She places positive thoughts and ideas into the readers mind through her stories and images. She understands that all of nature is not only alive but conscious and although this may seem like fantasy to some, through her studies of quantum physics she knows this to be true. These ideas are seen throughout her stories.
Bobette has been hired to do many art assignments throughout her life and has created and sold many fine works of art as well as owning her own sign business, working for sign companies and doing murals and graphic art jobs. You will notice the many different type faces throughout her illustrations that she has designed.
She is currently working on a series of American History paintings of the twentieth century in America. They are large paintings 4' x 6' and done by decades. Keep watching for the latest decade paintings. The first is on this site and the second should be completed by next year.
